  1. Now, more than a year later, autistic people are wondering why companies worked so hard to attract them to jobs without understanding how to accommodate their needs. Companies made a splash for hiring differently abled people without preparing their corporate culture for the arrival of this unique workforce. For those neurodivergent people that are able to work, the unemployment rate is above 60%. Sadly, groups like Autism $peaks fund occupational therapy programs that only teach masking techniques so that the neurodivergent can pass as neurotypical in the work place. This, like ABA, leads to trauma, PTSD, and other problems.
